Manuka Honey comes from New Zealand where the bee pollinates the native Manuka bush. With great timing, the bees are able to source from a plant that flowers for only a few weeks out of the year. Once the bees have processed the nectar into honey, a natural chemical reaction happens and MGO forms. MGO is the ingredient that designates the result as Manuka Honey.
MGO (Methylglyoxal) is what gives the honey its unique non-peroxide activity properties. These antimicrobial elements are graded by the UMF, or: Unique Manuka Factor. This grading system rates the amount of unique signature compounds. This is designed to ensure purity and quality.
Medterra uses Manuka Honey that scores a 12 or higher in the UMF grading system, making it very effective. They have paired Manuka with their high quality, hemp-derived CBD for the best possible results.
