More Info
For-Bid is a highly purified crystalline edible protein, which, when mixed with food and fed to an animal, may curb coprophagy or feces eating
For-Bid is not an enzyme mixture which alters the normal digestive process
Sprinkling the powder on food, which is then consumed by the animal, will yield a forbidden and unpalatable taste to feces
For-Bid has been used by thousands of veterinarians for cats, dogs and horses, without adverse reactions and with exceptional success
Be sure you are not over feeding your animal, because undigested food in the feces will propagate coprophagia. You are the best judge of this.
It may be advisable to change the animal's diet. Try a new diet with a range of B complex vitamins, as well as and minerals.
RECOMMENDED USAGE:
Dogs:
3 - 20 lbs - 1/4 packet twice a day for 5 days.
20 - 100 lbs - 1/2 packet twice a day for 5 - 6 days.
Cats:
1/4 packet per day for 4 - 5 days
Horses:
1½ packets, two times per day (morning and night), for 2-3 days typically deters this behavior.
Sprinkle FOR-BID on the food You should see a response after the first or second day. If coprophagy starts again after initial dosage; give 1 gram per day (from this 8 gram packet) for 2 - 3 weeks as necessary.
When a dog is eating another dog's stool, or those from a cat's litter box, we recommend treating both animals.
Contains wheat gluten and monosodium glutamate.
Administer For-Bid by sprinkling on the animal's food as recommended. If using dry food, it is recommended to moisten food with water before adding For-Bid. This food then goes through the gastrointestinal tract, and the breakdown product of For-Bid ends up in the feces. The animal is then sensitized to their feces. When the animal next attempts to eat this feces, the animals taste buds detect the flavor, and the animal discards it. You should see a response after the first or second day.
Be sure the animals are not on steroids, as this will counter the effect of For-Bid
TYPES OF COPROPHAGIA
ACUTE
- This develops in young animals, and has occurred for 1-3 weeks. For-Bid is 99.99% effective.
INTERMEDIATE
- Animals 3-5 years old that have had coprophagia for 1-3 months. For-Bid is approximately 95% effective.
CHRONIC
- Animals 5-6 years old, that have been eating feces for 1-3 years. This is not coprophagia, but a bad habit. Here For-Bid may not work.
