My herpes-prone cat likes these "treats" 9 out of 10 times. She's a cat, so we have to expect fussy once in a while.

I'm a Persian cat breeder and have found Vetri-Lysine chews to be excellent in preventing herpetic flareups in my spayed Himalayan. I use the Optixcare in my breeding cats because of the caution label on the Vetri-Lysine regarding use in breeding cats, presumably due to a lack of safety data with the DMG. Optixcare touts the advantage of convenience in dosing at 500mg (one verses two of the Vetri-Lysine or twelve of the Enisyl), however the size of the chew is too large for the Persian mouth, so I break it in half. It is a slightly softer chew than the Vetri-Lysine and easily broken.
