Chamomile's high content of the amino acid tryptophan provides a calming effect. It also contains high amounts of calcium and magnesium as well as iron, zinc, flavinoids and essential oils.
Hops are best known as the flavor used to make beer, but also act to counter nervousness and reduce stress and anxiety as well as serving as a digestive aid.
Ginger is well known for relieving indigestion and nausea and has been used with pets that become carsick when traveling.
Taurine is an amino acid that plays a major role in the brain as an "inhibitory" neurotransmitter. Taurine provides a similar anti-anxiety effect that helps to calm or stabilize an excited brain.
Tryptophan helps the body produce serotonin, a remarkable chemical that acts as a calming agent in the brain.
Active ingredients per 5 soft chews:
Dried hops - 45 mg
Chamomile - 45 mg
Ginger root extract 4% - 35 mg
Taurine - 20 mg
Tryptophan - 10 mg
Inactive ingredients:
Beef tallow, brewers dried yeast, cheddar cheese powder, chicken, corn syrup, calcium pantothenate, dextrose, dried whole egg, FD&C Red 40, FD&C Yellow 5, fish solubles, gelatin, glycerin, glycine, mixed tocopherols, phosphoric acid, potassium sorbate a preservative , soy flour, starch, salt, titanium dioxide, tuna, wheat flour, and wheat gluten.
Suggested feeding:
3 soft chews daily to a cat weighing 7 lbs. or less
6 soft chews to a cat weighing more than 7 lbs.
Do not exceed more than 7 days in a row.
Precaution: Not for pregnant cats.
