The American dog tick is perhaps the most familiar north American hard tick. Protect your pet from it and fleas with medicine. Remember, their size is important in choosing the solution.

The smallest cat breeds weigh about 2 to 3 kg (about 5 to 7 lb) when full grown; the largest weigh about 7 to 9 kg (about 15 to 20 lb). Limbs are relatively short in the basset hound and dachshund, but long in the greyhound.
