Ampicillin supply for sick fish
Ampicillin is a penicillin-like antibiotic. It is similar to another medication called amoxicillin, which is used to treat bacterial infections in people. If your fish start to develop bacterial infections it's important to have an ampicillin supply at hand. The capsules are broken apart and put into the fish tank so that treatment can begin.
There is a fine balancing act going on in your fish tank. In the mixture of good and bad bacteria, it's sometimes hard to keep the good bacteria happy and growing without bad bacteria rearing it's ugly head in protest. How will you know if your fish are sick with a bacterial infection and it's time to reach for your ampicillin supply? A lot of it has to do with paying attention to the behavior of the little creatures in the tank. A fish that appears sluggish and isn't eating or has a swelled body may have an internal bacterial infection. A bacterial infection called myxobacteriosis (that's easy for us to say!) will cause body swelling or black patches on the fins or body.
